Extreme Cold Weather Shelter Opens Thursday Night at Fall River’s First Step Inn

On Thursday, December 4, 2025, the First Step Inn, in collaboration with the City of Fall River’s Community Development Agency, will open the Extreme Cold Weather Temporary Shelter from 4:00 pm through 8:00 am Friday, December 5, 2025, in their first-floor conference room at 134 Durfee Street.

Anyone in need of assistance for their shelter needs is urged to call 508-679-8001 or the FAST Response Team’s 24-hour homeless hotline at 508-676-3528. Street outreach workers from the City of Fall River will be able to assist with transportation and will staff the shelter overnight along with several other local social service agencies and the City’s Emergency Medical Services Division.
