Dartmouth man sentenced to prison in Fall River for murder of girlfriend Kerri Fidalgo

A 32-year-old Dartmouth man pled guilty today in Fall River Superior Court in connection to a stabbing homicide on Atlantic Street in New Bedford.

Tyler Dow Baglini was charged with murder last year and according to court records was sentenced today to life with the possibility of parole, serving not less than 25 years. Baglini has credit of 403 days already served.

At just before 5:00 p.m. on September 20th, 2024, New Bedford Police responded to 86 Atlantic Street for a report of a stabbing. When they arrived inside the home, they located and rendered aid to a 31-year-old New Bedford woman who was suffering from apparent stab wounds.

The victim, who was later identified as Kerri Fidalgo, was rushed to Saint Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, where she was later pronounced deceased.  The victim was living in an apartment at the 86 Atlantic Street address.

Baglini was reportedly the boyfriend of Fidalgo.

Fidalgo was a clerk in the probation department at the New Bedford courthouse and was described by those who knew her as kind, reliable, creative, and a warm, happy person to be around who was there for them when they needed her.
