State Police arrest previously missing Connecticut woman accused of killing her 1-month-old son
A southern New England woman is being accused of killing her baby.
Sadie Fleming, a 27-year-old resident of Washington, Connecticut, and her 1-month-old son Hudson were reported missing from their home on the morning of June 8, 2025, prompting a statewide Silver Alert.
Fleming was last seen leaving on foot with the infant, and authorities described her as potentially suffering from a mental health crisis.
Around 5:45 p.m. that day, state police located them in a wooded area near their residence, both with serious injuries.
Sadie was located walking on Blackville Road with her clothing soaking wet and her mental status appeared to be altered.
Washington Fire Department personnel located Hudson in Mallory Brook, a small body of water located behind 127 Blackville Road.
Tragically, Hudson succumbed to his injuries shortly after, while Fleming was hospitalized in critical condition and eventually recovered.
On Wednesday, Connecticut State Police arrested Fleming, charging her with Murder Under 16 Years Old-Special Circumstances and Risk of Injury to Child.
Fleming is currently being held on $5 million bond.
