A stop for coffee ended up with a $1 million State Lottery win for Massachusetts man; here is what he is doing with the winnings
A Massachusetts man should have a pretty good retirement after hitting big money on a State Lottery scratch ticket.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Jamshid Shadfar of Worcester is the winner of a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$5,000,000 100X Cashword” $20 instant ticket game.
Shadfar chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). He plans on putting the winnings towards retirement.
He stopped for a cup of coffee and a Cashword ticket and found out it was a $1 million win on the Mass Lottery app.
Shadfar purchased his winning ticket at Value Mart, 50 Hamilton St. in Worcester. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
$5,000,000 100X Cashword has one $5,000,000 and one $1,000,000 prizes remaining.
