Fall River house of worship, school building, gymnasium/auditorium to go on the auction block
FALL RIVER, MA – Several pieces of real estate in the historic Fall River Highlands will go to sale at public auction this fall.
According to Southcoast Auctions, on Thursday, November 6th at 4:00 p.m., the property at 385 High Street (corner Locust St.), and situated cater-corner to the Fall River Probate and Family Courthouse, will be sold on the premises at public auction.
The offering includes 34,306 square feet (±) of prime land area. The property is improved by a 30,855 square foot group of interconnected connected buildings originally constructed in 1928.
Among the structures are:
· An historic house of worship;
· A school building, suitable for educational or institutional uses;
· A gymnasium/auditorium with raised stage, providing open-span recreational or multipurpose space.
Possible future uses for the property may include community, cultural, educational, residential or mixed-use development – subject to all necessary approvals and with the understanding by the Congregation that some improvements to the property could be razed to facilitate more a contemporary use, design and need at the property.
