Victim identified in fatal I-195 crash Tuesday morning
UPDATE: The driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee killed in today’s crash in Somerset has been identified as Judith Wright, 65 of Pawtucket, RI.
A single-vehicle, rollover crash this morning on Route 195 in Somerset resulted in the death of the operator.
Preliminary investigation by Trooper Ivo Luis indicates that a 65-year-old Pawtucket, R.I. woman was traveling on Route 195 Westbound in Somerset near exit 4 in a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee at approximately 6:40 a.m. when, for reasons still under investigation, she lost control of the vehicle, causing it to crash in the median. The operator was determined to be deceased at the scene.
The cause of this crash remains under investigation with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, troopers assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
State Police were assisted on scene by Somerset Fire and EMS, Somerset Police, and MassDOT.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending family notification.
