61-year-old Fall River man facing several charges after 4 guns, hundreds of rounds of ammo seized
A city man is facing multiple charges after an investigation by Fall River Police.
According to Det. Sergeant Moses Pereira, on Saturday, the Vice, Gang, and Intelligence Unit received credible information that 61-year-old Michael Shea was illegally in possession of firearms.
While conducting surveillance, they observed Shea enter his vehicle, then travel north on East Main Street. Shortly thereafter investigators initiated a traffic stop. Shea was cooperative with investigators.
During the subsequent investigation, detectives recovered a Polymer AR15, 2 Polymer 80 9mm firearms, Polymer 80 .40 caliber firearm, 261 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and 100 rounds of .223 caliber ammunition.
Shea, who does not possess a license to carry firearms in the State of Massachusetts, was arrested and charged with carrying a firearm without a license to carry, 4 counts of possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of ammunition without an FID card, and possession of a large capacity feeding device.

Arrested for owning a gun. What the hell has this world come to? Pretty sure the 2nd ammendment states clearly the right to “keep and bear arms”.

I know. I’m trying to find out what he did wrong. As usual media and reporters never clarify.

As the article states, he didn’t have a license. Also, we pass along what information police give us. It is not like we are withholding any details.

Four guns and 350 or so of ammo total is a pretty marginal amount. Not even enough for a full day of fun at the range.

The only thing he did wrong was living in Massachusetts.

100%. I had a valid LTC when I lived in MA. I smartened up and moved to Texas where there is still hope and freedom. My collection has grown considerably since moving. Anti gun folk will bash a responsible gun owner. But if you “yuck their yum” you’re a bigot and reprehensible.

It’s weird that these articles end up in my news feed. I guess it’s because I’m a firearms enthusiast and pretty much always click the links to articles related to firearms. It sounds like Massachusetts has pretty strict legal requirements for gun ownership. In my home state of WA, we have been getting more legal requirements. You should know and follow the laws where you live. Don’t take legal advice from random people on the internet. The US constitution is the basis for all our federal laws. In fact, the MA constitution has been around even longer than the US constitution. States have laws, too. And just because you THINK a law is unconstitutional doesn’t mean that it is.

It’s a reciprocal law. Those that defy the 2nd amendment get their FICA earnings record deleted.
