60-year-old medflighted to Rhode Island Hospital after southeastern Massachusetts construction accident

BRIDGEWATER — The Bridgewater Fire Department responded Friday morning to a construction accident on Broad Street.

At just after 11:00 a.m., the Bridgewater Fire and Police Departments responded to a reported construction accident at 70 Broad St., the site of the former Friendly’s.

When crews arrived, they located a 60-year-old male suffering from multiple injuries.

The victim was stabilized on scene by Bridgewater Fire paramedics, then transported by ambulance to a landing zone at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish on Center Street. He was then flown by medical helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

At the time of transport, the victim was in stable condition.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration also responded to the scene and is investigating.
