WOBURN – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Marlborough Chief of Police David Giorgi have announced that Daniel Uhlman, 55, of Westborough, was convicted today in Middlesex Superior Court of the murder of his mother, Nancy Uhlman, 82, of Westborough. After an 11 day trial, the jury found Daniel Uhlman guilty of first-degree murder and armed assault to murder a person over 60. Sentencing has been scheduled for December 22.

On June 1, 2023, at approximately 12:38 p.m., Daniel Uhlman walked into the lobby of a hotel on Lakeside Avenue in Marlborough and told the staff to call the police because he had just killed his mother. Upon arrival, police located the victim in the parking lot with significant trauma. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The subsequent investigation revealed that Daniel Uhlman planned to meet his mother in the hotel parking lot and kill her. The defendant pulled the victim from her truck, beat her, tried to stab her and struck her with the truck. An autopsy conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be blunt force injuries as a result of an assault and having been struck by a motor vehicle.

According to The Worcester Telegram, in 2014, Uhlman was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in jail after telling his mother he hated her, threatened to kill her and proceeded to stab her repeatedly in the face leaving her nose disfigured and mutilated.

This investigation was conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, the Marlborough Police Department and Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office. Middlesex Assistant District Attorneys Megan McGovern and Ryan Rall were assigned to this case. The Victim Witness Advocate was Dar’ya Matkovska.
