54-year-old Taunton woman killed in serious fatal crash this morning
NORFOLK — Chief Timothy Heinz reports that the Norfolk Police Department responded to a fatal single-vehicle crash this morning.
At approximately 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Norfolk Police responded to the area of the Needham and Main Streets intersection for a report of a serious motor vehicle crash.
Upon arrival, first responders discovered a sedan that had crashed into a tree.
The driver, a 54-year-old woman from Taunton, was transported by the Norfolk Fire Department via ambulance to an area hospital.
The driver was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The identity of the victim has not been released at this time pending notification of next-of-kin.
The crash remains under investigation by Norfolk Police detectives.
