51-year-old local woman killed in multi-vehicle crash near Dartmouth/Westport line remembered as intelligent, fun, nicest person you could meet
A local woman who died from injuries sustained in a violent car crash is being remembered.
According to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III, Dartmouth and Westport Police were dispatched at just after 7:30 p.m. on Friday to Route 6 after receiving 911 calls regarding a motor vehicle crash.
Upon arrival, police located two motor vehicles. One, a blue Toyota Camry Sedan, was located with catastrophic damage.
The male operator of the Camry, identified as 34-year-old Tristan Bedient of Acushnet, MA, and female passenger, identified as 51-year-old Kate Aldrich of New Bedford, MA, were transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced deceased a short time later.
The second vehicle, a SAAB sedan, was located with two occupants who sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Those who knew Aldrich had many adjectives to describe her. All complementary. Intelligent, fun, funny, witty, and the nicest person you could meet.
To prove how intelligent she was, she received a full academic scholarship to Boston College where she graduated with high honors with a bachelor’s degree in arts and communications.
She held several marketing and copywriter positions including senior digital copywriter/digital copy manager at Talbots.
Services have not yet been announced.
The investigation into the crash is active and ongoing by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office along with the Massachusetts State Police, Dartmouth Police, and Westport Police.
