50-100 dirt bike and ATV takeover on Fall River streets leads to several arrests, vehicles towed
Fall River Police made several arrests after a recent street takeover by dozens of vehicles.
According to police, on Sunday, from approximately 3:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., packs of 50-100 individuals on dirt bikes, ATVs, scooters and motorcycles congregated on city streets, disregarding traffic laws while performing reckless stunts, putting not only their lives at risk, but the lives of innocent, law-abiding drivers and pedestrians at risk.
Through a coordinated effort to maintain public safety, members of the Fall River Police Department’s Motor Vehicle Unit, Patrol Bureau, Neighborhood Engagement/Enforcement Team and Community Action and Suppression Team conducted proactive patrols throughout the city. Five individuals involved in the takeover were apprehended and arrested. Four motorcycles, one ATV and one scooter used in the attempted takeover were towed as a result of the arrests.
The following individuals were arrested:
Christopher Frias, 34 years old
Charges: Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Disturbing the Peace, Disorderly Conduct, Failure to Stop for Police, Conspiracy.
Dylan Ploude, 24 years old
Charges: Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Stop for Police, Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Disturbing the Peace, Disorderly Conduct, Conspiracy, Resisting Arrest, Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle.
Aaron Pimental, 20 years old
Charges: Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Stop for Police, Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Disturbing the Peace, Disorderly Conduct, Conspiracy, Operation of a Recreational Vehicle on a Public Way.
Yethziel Medina, 19 years old
Charges: Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Stop for Police, Operation of a Recreational Vehicle on a Public Way, Disturbing the Peace, Disorderly Conduct, Conspiracy, Resisting Arrest, Motorized Scooter Violation.
Jerron Butler, 36 years old
Charges: Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Disturbing the Peace, Disorderly Conduct, Failure to Stop for Police, Conspiracy, Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Resisting Arrest, Assault & Battery on an Officer, Failure to Use Care When Turning.
According to court records, at Monday’s arraignment, Frias, Ploude, Butler, Medina, and Pimental all pled not guilty and were issued bail at $10,000 surety bond or $1,000 cash.
