5-year-old headed to Dartmouth on school bus left cold and alone screaming for help for hours father says
DARTMOUTH – A Massachusetts father says that police are investigating after he says his 5-year-old daughter was left on a school bus alone for hours.
According to multiple reports, Christopher Matton stated that his daughter, Riley, was picked up by Trembley’s Bus Company early Thursday and fell asleep on the ride.
Matton stated that the staff at Kiddie Kampus on Old Westport Road in Dartmouth didn’t help the child off of the bus when it arrived at the school and the bus was returned to the bus yard in New Bedford.
According to Matton, his daughter sat on the bus for approximately five hours, until almost 2:00 p.m., alone in the cold. His daughter was crying and screaming for help while still buckled in. He also stated that she urinated during the ordeal.
Matton stated that the child’s teacher told his family that it was an honest mistake after she was up all night due to personal issues.
He says that police are investigating the incident.
