5-year-old falls from second floor window in Bristol County, police say
Authorities say that a young child reportedly fell out of a window in Bristol County.
According to police, on Tuesday, at just after 12:30 p.m., the Norton Police and Fire Departments responded to Goodwin Drive for a report that a 5-year-old child had fallen from a second-story porch window.
Police stated that the porch was a three-season room with side-to-side sliding windows that were open at the time. The child’s family was visiting friends at the home.
The investigation indicated that the child pushed against the screen, causing it to dislodge, and fell onto the pavement below.
The homeowner, a family friend, was leaving the residence and witnessed the child’s fall.
Norton Fire Rescue provided immediate medical care. The child was conscious during treatment and was transported by MedFlight from Mansfield Airport to Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence, RI.
