47-year-old local woman in serious condition after bicycle collision off Route 114

A local woman is suffering from injuries after her bicycle collided with a car off of Route 114.

According to police, on Thursday, at approximately 4:00 p.m., Middletown Police and Fire responded to the area of 92 Greene Lane, regarding a motor vehicle collision involving a bicyclist.

Upon arrival, the female bicyclist, a 47-year-old Middletown resident, was found to have sustained serious injuries. Middletown Fire transported the bicyclist to Rhode Island Hospital, where she is currently listed as being in serious but stable condition.

The Middletown Police Accident Investigation Unit responded to the scene and began their initial investigation. The driver of the vehicle involved is cooperating with Middletown Police Investigators.

No arrests or citations have been made as this is still an ongoing investigation.
