A day of drinking has reportedly left one man charged and another getting a chunk of his ear bitten off.

According to police, at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, two men in North Plymouth got into a drunken fist fight.

The two had been out all day and night on a sightseeing cruise, then continued drinking at local establishments.

They went home to a North Plymouth residence, got into an argument, and began exchanging punches. At one point, 39-year-old Michael O’Driscoll of Plymouth got his 40-year-old opponent from Dorchester on the ground and put his mouth around the Dorchester man’s ear.

The man pleaded “Don’t bite my ear off, don’t bite my ear!” The pleading went unheeded by O’Driscoll who bit a good chunk of his victim’s ear off.

Officers noted that the “two inch” piece of ear was in a cup of ice water upon their arrival.

Michael O’Driscoll was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery with Serious Bodily Injury (Severe Disfigurement) as well as Mayhem.
