What started as a relaxing round of golf turned into an alleged scary incident for 2 young golfers on Cape Cod.

According to police, on Wednesday at just after 3:30 p.m. Barnstable Police Officers responded to a report of a woman waving a pistol at two young men playing golf at the Olde Barnstable Fairgrounds in Marstons Mills.

The victims told responding officers that as they were playing their round of golf a woman appeared from the wood line yelling at them to stay out of her yard. When the golfers responded that they were not in her yard she presented what appeared to be a black pistol, waving and pointing it at them. The golfers immediately reported the incident and responding officers shut down a portion of Race Lane while a search for the suspect was conducted.

The on-scene investigation identified 39-year-old Chrystal Lawson, of Marstons Mills, as the suspect. Officers were able to surround Lawson’s residence and have her exit the home without incident. Lawson was taken into custody at that point and a search of her residence revealed 2 rubber guns and a replica pistol magazine.

Lawson was transported to the Barnstable Police Department where she was booked on 2 counts of Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon to wit Firearm.

The bail commissioner released Lawson on personal recognizance, and she is scheduled to be arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Friday.
