38-year-old Massachusetts woman charged after highway crash with 2-year-old and 7-month-old in the vehicle
A Massachusetts woman is facing several charges after an incident on a highway.
According to State Police, on Wednesday, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Connecticut Troopers from Troop C – Tolland were dispatched to I-84 eastbound, in the area of exit 67 in the town of Vernon for an evading motor vehicle collision. The reporting party advised Emergency Dispatchers that their vehicle was struck by a purple Honda Accord, which failed to stop and continued eastbound on I-84.
After learning this information, Troopers successfully located the vehicle on I-84 prior to exit 72. The vehicle was driving erratically and failed to maintain the established lane of travel. Troopers conducted a motor vehicle stop and identified the operator as 38-year-old Pheak Si of Lowell, MA. The vehicle was also occupied by one other adult, and two children (2-year-old and 7-month-old).
After briefly speaking with Si, Troopers suspected her to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Si was requested to participate in the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which she did not perform to standard. As a result, Si was arrested and transported to Troop C for processing.
Si was charged with Operating Under the Influence, Failure to Maintain Lane, Evading Responsibility at a Motor Vehicle Collision, and Risk of Injury to a Child (2 Counts)
Si was later released on a $1,000 bond and scheduled to appear at Rockville Superior Court on 01/08/2025.
