A Massachusetts man killed in a highway crash is being remembered.

Just before 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Massachusetts State Police from the Holden Barracks responded to a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 290 East, in the vicinity of Southbridge Street in Worcester.

38-year-old Joseph “JoJo” Bitar later died from injuries sustained in the crash.

He was the only occupant in the vehicle.

According to an obituary, JoJo had such passion and talent creating art especially with his daughter Natalie and would end each evening watching movies, playing games with his girlfriend of 19 years, Ashley, and reading his book. “He was a fantastic photographer and made some hilarious movies with his daughter, friends, and recruited strangers with his positive words and energy. JoJo was extremely clever and could do a crossword puzzle without looking at the answers. He appreciated a good joke, and he also loved making them. He had a talent for memorizing the words to songs. He loved playing outdoors and working out with his cousin, Chris. Every weekend, he’d hike the Audubon trail and build his own forts. BMX biking was always one of his favorite hobbies. He performed well competing in the Major Taylor Challenge.” Above all, family and friends meant the most to him.

His visitation will be held on Sunday, October 13th from 1:00 PM until 2:45 p.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester, followed by a funeral service at 2:45 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
