38-year-old Fall River man sentenced to prison after raping missing 14-year-old girl
Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III has announced that a 38-year-old Fall River man, who previously pled guilty, was sentenced in the Fall River Superior Court by the Honorable Susan Sullivan on Monday.
Trevon Hector was sentenced to five to seven years on three counts of Rape and Abuse of a Child and a concurrent sentence of four and half to five years for Possession of Child Pornography.
In August of 2023, the 14-year-old victim was residing in a group home in Fall River. The victim ran from the group home and attempted to hitchhike a ride to see her biological mother in Brockton. The defendant, who was 36 years old at the time, pulled over and agreed to give her a ride. At that point, the victim told the defendant she was 18 years old. Instead, he drove to the Riverview Inn & Suites in Somerset where he rented a room, and the two spent the night. While in the room, Hector gave the victim approximately five drinks, which she believed to be alcohol mixed with orange juice. The victim reported feeling intoxicated, could not move, could not see straight, and kept falling asleep. However, the defendant had sexual intercourse with her numerous times throughout the evening.
The next morning, the victim woke up, and Hector was not in the room. The victim called a friend she had been communicating with for a ride. The friend advised her to call the police. When police arrived, the victim met the police outside in the parking lot. While speaking with the victim, Hector walked out of the hotel and admitted to officers that he had spent the night with the victim. Once at the police station, he stated to the detective that in the eyes of the law, he had done something wrong. His phone was searched, once a warrant was obtained, there were three photos of the victim, unconscious on the bed with her breasts exposed. The detectives searched the hotel room and found used condoms, condom wrappers, and an empty bottle of male performance liquid. The victim was transported to a local hospital where biological evidence was retrieved pursuant to a SANE kit. Hector’s DNA was a positive match to that evidence.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Kalene Kobza and Canan Yesilcimen.
“The defendant plied the victim with alcohol and then sexually assaulted her. I am pleased that the defendant pled guilty and accepted responsibility without the victim having to testify,” District Attorney Tom Quinn said.
