38-year-old active-duty Providence firefighter, father of 2, dies suddenly
A Providence firefighter has died suddenly.
President of IAFF Local 799 Michael Foley announced the passing of 38-year-old Steven Elliott.
“Steve was a proud father of 2 and a dedicated member of Local 799. Steve served the City of Providence honorably for 11 years and was most recently assigned to Engine 2 at the Branch Avenue station.”
“Steve was loved by many and will be deeply missed. We extend our sincere condolences to his family and all who knew him during this incredibly difficult time.”
Elliott was remembered as a great guy who was well-liked at the station.
An exact cause of death was not released.
Services have yet to be announced.
