A Bristol County man is dead after injuries sustained in a highway collision.

According to State Police, on Thursday, at just after 9:45 p.m., a motor vehicle collision occurred on I-95 northbound in Groton, Connecticut. A white 2012 Subaru Impreza was traveling northbound on I-95 in the Town of Groton when it collided with the rear of a parked construction vehicle, a 2020 Sennebogen 728e.

The 2012 Subaru Impreza was traveling northbound on I-95 between exits 88 and 89 when it exited the roadway to the left. The Subaru entered the grass center median and collided with the rear of a 2020 Sennebogen 728e construction vehicle which was unoccupied and not in the roadway. The Subaru blocked I-95 northbound travel lanes after the collision and the operator identified as 37-year-old Paul Robert Bigos of Dighton was entrapped in the vehicle.

As a result of the collision, Bigos was transported to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in the Town of New London where he was pronounced deceased for injuries sustained in the collision. There were no other occupants, operators or construction personnel in the area.
