36-year-old Freetown woman killed in highway crash remembered for heart of gold
A local woman killed in an early morning highway crash is being remembered.
According to Massachusetts State Police, shortly before 3:30 a.m. Saturday, Troopers assigned to the Dartmouth Barracks responded to a single-car crash on Interstate 195 east at mile marker 21 in Dartmouth.
Dartmouth Fire and EMS also responded to the scene to extricate the victim-operator who became trapped following the crash. Unfortunately, the victim did not survive her injuries.
She has been identified as 36-year-old Crystal Mullens of Freetown.
A passenger in the car sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
According to someone close to Mullens, “she had a heart of gold. She would do anything for anyone no matter any situation she was in. This is a nightmare. My heart is broken for her and especially her 4 boys. She was a good person a great friend/sister. This is very hard.”
The crash remains under investigation by the State Police Crime Scene Services Section, the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the Bristol County State Police Detective Unit.
