35-year-old bicyclist injured, transported to trauma center, after collision with truck on Route 6
FAIRHAVEN — Lt. Kevin Kobza reports that the Fairhaven Police Department responded to a collision involving a bicycle and car on Monday afternoon.
At approximately 3:15 p.m., Fairhaven police responded to a report of a crash at the intersection of Route 6 and Narragansett Boulevard.
Officers arrived to discover a 35-year-old Fairhaven bicyclist suffering from injuries that are considered non-life-threatening.
An initial investigation suggests that the cyclist rode in front of a Dodge pickup truck that was traveling westbound on Route 6.
The bicyclist was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital by ambulance.
The car’s operator, who was not injured, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The crash remains under investigation by the Fairhaven Police Department.
