34-year-old Plymouth County woman accused of physically abusing her two-month-old child

BROCKTON – A woman is under arrest and is scheduled to be arraigned on charges that she physically abused her two-month-old child, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz and Abington Police Chief John Bonney have announced.

34-year-old Jillian Timmons is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow in Brockton District Court on two counts of Assault and Battery on a Child Causing Serious Bodily Injury, and one count of Reckless Endangerment of a Child.

The arrest follows a two-week investigation by Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and Abington Police. On July 17th, a mandated reporter at South Shore Hospital contacted authorities about the suspected physical abuse of Timmons’ daughter, after Timmons brought her into South Shore Hospital for treatment.

As a result of the investigation, detectives developed probable cause, and sought and obtained an arrest warrant for Timmons. She was taken into custody this afternoon. The baby is currently being treated at a Boston hospital. The investigation is ongoing.
