33-year-old Bristol County man killed in crash on Route 24, Massachusetts State Police release preliminary investigation

A Bristol County man is dead after a Sunday morning highway crash.

According to Trooper Leah O’Connell, this morning shortly before 7:00 a.m., State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash between a passenger car and a tractor trailer on Route 24 south in West Bridgewater. 

Preliminary information indicates that the car rear ended the trailer. The operator of the passenger car sustained fatal injuries. 

The crash required officials to close the right and middle lanes of the highway for approximately 2 hours during the on scene investigation. 

The deceased operator is identified as 33-year-old Carlos Monteiro of Taunton.

Those who knew Monteiro described him as kind and loving with a sense of humor, and a smile that would brighten every room.

O’Connell stated that Massachusetts State Police offer condolences to his family and loved ones.
