32-year-old Massachusetts father of three dies from injuries after coming to the aid of another

A Massachusetts father of three died due to heroic actions, according to those who knew him.
According to police, on Sunday, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Barnstable Police Officers responded to a residence on Hamden Circle in Hyannis for an industrial accident.
Two individuals were transported by Hyannis Fire Department personnel after suffering injuries from contact with electrical wires.
One individual was transported to Cape Cod Hospital. The other was transported to a Boston area hospital by Med Flight.
32-year-old Jermaine Whitmore died from his injuries.
According to a GoFundMe fundraiser, and those who knew Whitmore, he died trying to help a worker outside his home.
“Jermaine was getting ready to take his kids to the beach, as he often does on the weekends, when he heard the cries for help and raced over. His life was cut short from electrocution simply trying to help someone as he did without hesitation. Jermaine lost his life being a hero. Jermaine was unselfish, hardworking, loved his family and (was) full of life.”
The Cape & Island’s State Police Detective Unit continues to investigate the incident.
