32-year-old from Fall River has bail set after alleged larcenies from motor vehicles, car thefts, fraudulent use of credit cards in Portsmouth

Portsmouth, RI — A local resident was granted bail after an arrest on multiple charges concerning thefts in the area.

According to police, on July 15, 2025, 32-year-old Clifton Dushevskyy of Fall River was arrested by the Portsmouth Police Department following an extensive investigation by the Detective Division. The investigation led to the issuance of multiple arrest warrants linking Dushevskyy to a series of larceny-related offenses that occurred across the Town of Portsmouth.

During the week of December 30, 2024, the Portsmouth Police Department responded to a series of reports involving larcenies from motor vehicles, the theft of a motor vehicle, and the fraudulent use of credit cards. Victims reported various items being stolen, including multiple pairs of sunglasses, gift cards, cash, credit cards, keys, clothing, personal checks, medications, binoculars, and DVDs. Several vehicles also showed signs of being tampered with.

Following a detailed investigation into the series of thefts, the Portsmouth Police Detective Division identified Dushevskyy as the primary suspect. Based on their findings, multiple arrest warrants were authorized and officially issued on January 3, 2025.

On July 15, 2025, Dushevskyy was taken into custody and transferred to the Portsmouth Police Department by the Rhode Island Division of Sheriffs.

Dushevskyy was arraigned in Rhode Island’s 2nd Division District Court on multiple charges, including driving without the consent of the owner, three counts of fraudulent use of credit cards, four counts of injuring or tampering with vehicles, thirteen counts of larceny, and conspiracy. Bail was set at $2,500 with surety.
