
A Rhode Island man has died from injuries he sustained in a motorcycle crash.
According to Coventry Police, on Thursday at just before 1:00 p.m., Officers of the Coventry Police Department were dispatched to the area of Verizon Wireless, 670 Centre of New England Blvd, to investigate an accident involving a motorcycle.
Rescue personnel also responded due to reported injuries.
Upon their arrival, Officers located a 30 year old male from Coventry, who had sustained serious, life threatening injuries and was immediately transported to Rhode Island Hospital by Central Coventry Rescue. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries at Rhode Island Hospital.
According to the victim’s brother and a GoFundMe fundraiser, Andrew Brailey leaves behind 5- and 10-year-old sons as well as 4 brothers, 5 sisters, and parents.
“Andrew was not only a father and a brother or a son. He was a kid you call when you needed an extra hand for your car or whatever it may be. He showed up when you needed him and didn’t mind helping anyone who needed it. He was kind, ambitious and loving. He had his entire life in front of him and was feeling happy again.”
The fundraiser is for funeral expenses and burial.
The accident is currently under investigation by members of the Coventry Police Patrol Division and members of the Coventry Police Accident Reconstruction Team.
