29-year-old motorcycle rider dies from injuries sustained in Rhode Island crash

A motorcycle rider is dead after a weekend crash in Rhode Island involving another vehicle.

According to police, on Saturday at just before 9:30 a.m., the Warwick Police Department responded to a crash in the area of 390 Toll Gate Road.

The crash involved a motorcycle and a car.

The car, traveling westbound on Toll Gate Road, attempted to make a left-hand turn into the parking lot at 390 Toll Gate Road when the motorcycle, also traveling westbound on Toll Gate Road, collided with the car. The motorcycle struck the rear of the car. 

The 29-year-old motorcycle operator was transported to Rhode Island Hospital Trauma Center by the Warwick Fire Department with life threatening injuries. He later died.

According to family members and a fundraiser, the deceased is Andrew Santilli of Warwick.
