27-year-old Rhode Island man killed in evening shooting after leaving work
Police are investigating a fatal shooting that took place on Saturday evening.
According to multiple reports, police responded to a reported shooting in the area of Dexter Street and Sumner Avenue in Central Falls just after 9:15 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers located a Hispanic man in his late twenties suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The man was later declared dead at the scene.
The shooting did not appear to be a random act as the suspect was waiting for the victim.
Family and friends have announced that 27-year-old Emmanuel Torres Plaza was the victim killed by gunfire while walking to his car after working at a barbershop.
Those who knew him described him as a happy person with a good heart.
