27-year-old Fall River man with previous firearm-related convictions facing new drug and gun charges

Fall River Police have arrested a local man on new drug and gun charges after a previous conviction.

According to police, on Monday, members of CAST executed a search warrant in the 100 block of Fifth Street, with the assistance of the Emergency Services Unit. The target of the search warrant was 27-year-old Christopher DeJesus.

As a result of the search, a Ruger LC9S 9mm handgun equipped with a seven-round magazine containing six rounds of live ammunition, as well as approximately 8.34 grams of suspected crack cocaine was located inside of DeJesus’ residence.

FRPD stated that DeJesus has a prior Massachusetts conviction for firearm-related offenses.

DeJesus was charged with the following:

• Possess Large Capacity Firearm

• Possess Large Capacity Firearm in Commission of a Felony

• Possess Firearm Without FID card (Subsequent Offense)

• Possess Ammunition without FID

• Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B

• Firearm Violation with 1 Prior Violent/Drug Crime

• Improper Storage of a Firearm

DeJesus is expected to be arraigned in Fall River District Court on Monday.
