25-year-old Massachusetts woman charged in connection with death of 3-year-old son
BOSTON, April 9, 2024 – A Chelsea woman was arrested today in connection with the weekend death of her three-year-old son and is expected to be arraigned in Chelsea District Court tomorrow, Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden announced.
25-year-old Jennifer Prudencio is charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment of a child. Police were called to Prudencio’s Spencer Avenue apartment in Chelsea Sunday morning where they found her son, Yael Guardado-Prudencio, 3, unresponsive.
Hayden stated that further details will be released at arraignment.
“The death of someone so young is a tragedy beyond words. My heart goes out to all who knew and loved this young boy, and to the police and emergency services personnel who responded to the scene that sad morning,” Hayden said.
