25-year-old man killed in Wareham motorcycle crash remembered as genuine, nice, outgoing
A 25-year-old killed in a fatal collision between a car and a motorcycle in Wareham on Friday evening is being remembered.
Jordan Hansen of Mattapoisett is being remembered by family and those who knew him including his good friend Tanner.
“He was just a genuine, nice, kid. He was loved by a lot of people and growing up we would always have the best conversation and laughs together. We just had a lot of very good memories together. He was amazing at his job. (He) was always into cars and jet skis and when he first bought his bike, I saw him one day and just told him he needs to be careful. There are a lot of bad drivers on the road. Jordan was just a very outgoing kid. (I) really am going to miss him.”
According to NBC10 Boston, authorities in Wareham were alerted by several emergency calls around 5:00 p.m. reporting a serious accident involving a vehicle and a motorcycle near 2628 Cranberry Highway.
Responding officers and fire personnel discovered the injured motorcyclist lying on the pavement with critical wounds. He was rushed to Tobey Hospital before being airlifted to St. Luke’s Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators located the involved car and its operator about a quarter mile from the site of the incident.
The car’s driver, 67-year-old Raymond Cardoza from West Wareham, was taken into custody and charged with operating under the influence causing death, a fourth OUI offense, fleeing the scene after causing injury or fatality, and driving on a suspended license, per the DA’s office.
Cardoza is being detained on $100,000 cash bail.
The DA’s office noted that the probe into the accident continues.
