24-year-old Rhode Island woman arrested after crash on Route 6 causes injury
A local woman has been arrested concerning a crash that took place recently on Route 6.
According to State Police, this past Friday, at 4:15 p.m., members of the Rhode Island State Police Scituate Barracks arrested 24-year-old Eneye Ayeni of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Driving so as to Endanger, Resulting in Physical Injury.
The arrest was the result of the follow-up investigation of Ayeni’s Honda Accord striking the back of a Rhode Island State Police Cruiser on Route 6 East in Johnston on February 13, 2024.
The investigation revealed that Ayeni was traveling 97 miles per hour in a posted 55 mile per hour zone, when she lost control and hit the rear of the Cruiser along the right shoulder of the roadway. The Cruiser was stopped and investigating a previous crash in that area.
The Trooper was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with minor injuries and released.
Ayeni was arraigned before a Justice of the Peace at State Police Headquarters and released with a future 3rd Distict Court date.
The crash was investigated by members of the State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Scituate Barracks.
