24-year-old Massachusetts man killed, another seriously injured in head-on crash
One Massachusetts man is dead, and another person is seriously injured after a multi-vehicle crash.
On Thursday, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Billerica Police received multiple reports of a two-car head-on motor vehicle collision in the area of 570 Boston Road, Billerica across from Shield Systems Self-Service Car Wash.
Upon arrival, Billerica Police found both vehicles had heavy front-end damage and were occupied by a single occupant.
As police stabilized the scene, they quickly determined that both operators were suffering from injuries. Immediate medical aid was provided by first responders, including Billerica Police, Fire and Paramedics who arrived on scene within minutes of the police.
Both operators were transported to Lahey Hospital in Burlington with serious injuries. One operator, later identified as 24-year-old Charles Minghella, of Wilmington, was later pronounced deceased.
The investigation into the fatal accident is being conducted by Billerica Police in conjunction with the Massachusetts State Police Crash Analysis and Reconstruction Section as well as the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
