22-year-old Massachusetts woman killed in motorcycle crash on Route 95
A local woman has been killed after a weekend motorcycle crash.
According to Rhode Island State Police, at approximately 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, Troopers from the Lincoln Woods Barracks, along with members from the Providence Fire Department, responded to a crash involving a motorcycle on Route 95 North in the City of Providence.
The investigation revealed that a motorcycle, operated by 22-year-old Yessica Coreas-Hernandez of New Bedford, was traveling in the high-speed lane of Route 95 North in the City of Providence. At a point approximately 300 feet south of Exit 19 (Route 195), Coreas-Hernandez lost control of her motorcycle and struck the jersey barrier located in the center median. She was thrown from the vehicle as a result and suffered serious injuries. Coreas-Hernandez was transported to Rhode Island Hospital by the Providence Fire Department and later pronounced deceased by members of the medical staff.
There were no other vehicles involved in the crash.
