21-year-old Pawtucket man who died crossing highway remembered for smile, making people laugh
A local man died this past weekend in tragic circumstances.
Family members confirmed to Fall River Reporter that 21-year-old Alex Montesino of Pawtucket died after walking across I-95 North in Providence after being a passenger in a vehicle that pulled over on the highway at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Montesino was hit by an oncoming car.
Both vehicles involved stayed at the scene.
Those who knew Montesino remembered his smile and making people laugh and described him as someone who touched the lives of those around him. A relative told Fall River Reporter that he was a loving man who loved to cook and had 11 siblings. He would never say no to anyone.
The family member stated that they still don’t know the exact details of why he was crossing the highway, but he may have been arguing with his friend and got out of the car before he started walking in the highway.
A GoFundMe fundraiser has been created for funeral expenses.
The incident is under investigation.
