21-year-old held on bail after Fall River Police Department arrests stabbing suspect.

One person was injured and another arrested after a reported stabbing in Fall River.
According to Sergeant Ross Aubin, on Wednesday, Patrol Officers and MCD Detectives of the Fall River Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing victim that presented himself at Saint Anne’s Hospital. The victim had sustained a non-life-threatening slash wound to his left temple, which required stitches.
It was discovered that the victim was attacked by a male known to him as “Mil” or “Milton” during an altercation near the Fall River District Court House on South Main Street. The victim claimed the suspect suddenly produced a knife and “sucker stabbed” him in the face during a confrontation and later sought medical treatment.
Through the interview, the suspect was identified as 21-year-old Milton Enrique Gomez Castro. A Patrol Officer familiar with Gomez informed Detectives where Gomez may be staying. CAST Detectives located and arrested Gomez at this updated address and recovered a pocketknife that was on him.
Gomez was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon causing Serious Bodily Injury and Assault and Battery. He pled not guilty and, according to Aubin, was held on $25,000 cash bail.
Aubin noted that the swift apprehension of the suspect was a direct result of the internal communication and rapid information sharing between the various roles, ranks and units of our team.
Gomez has a pretrial hearing scheduled for next month.
