Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Stow Chief of Police Michael Sallese have announced that Shane Curry, 20, of Stow, has been charged with first degree murder in the killing of his girlfriend, 17-year-old Nevaeh Goddard in Stow on April 5, 2024.

Curry was arraigned in Concord District Court on April 6 on charges of assault and battery on a household or family member and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury. He was held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing. Those charges were later upgraded to murder.

On April 5, Stow Police responded the residence after receiving a request for a well-being check. Officers located Nevaeh in Curry’s bedroom with obvious signs of injury. She was pronounced dead at the scene. It is alleged that Curry stabbed Nevaeh causing her death during a physical altercation.

According to family, Goddard was missing out of Rhode Island at the time of her death.
