A Massachusetts man who was killed in a fiery highway crash recently is being remembered.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Weston Chief of Police Denis Linehan have confirmed an ongoing investigation into a fatal accident that occurred on Monday involving a single vehicle with two occupants on Route 20 in Weston.

Police received an automated 911 call from Apple’s automated crash detection from a vehicle that was being operated by a 20-year-old Jesse MacInnes of Framingham.

Upon arrival, police located the vehicle engulfed in flames in the woods on the eastbound side of Route 20, past Colpitts Road. The responding officers attempted to extinguish the fire but were unsuccessful. Upon arrival of the fire department, the fire was extinguished. The two occupants of the vehicle, MacInnes and 15-year-old Reese Bailey, were both pronounced dead on scene.

According to a GoFundMe fundraiser, Jesse had big dreams of starting his own business and buying his mom a house. An obituary stated that he “loved cooking, working alongside his dad and hanging around with his siblings and friends. He was a hard worker, loved sports and listening to music, especially older music. He was known to all who knew him as caring, loving and he had a heart of gold. Jesse was a love bug and gave the best hugs. He made his family very proud.”

The wake and service will be held on Monday at Advantage Funeral and Cremation 318 Union Avenue Framingham, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The crash is being investigated by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, the Weston Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section.
