20-year-old killed in Brockton crash remembered for kind heart, sense of humor, goofy smile, as services announced

A Massachusetts man who died after a one vehicle crash is being remembered.

According to the Brockton Fire Department, at approximately 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning, Brockton Fire responded to the 600 block of Pleasant Street for a motor vehicle accident involving a car versus pole where the driver had to be extricated.

According to those who knew him, 20-year-old McCarl Monestime from Brockton was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

A passenger in the vehicle survived.

According to an obituary, McCarl brought immeasurable joy, light and humor into his family member’s lives with his kind heart, goofy smile and boundless curiosity. He “graduated from Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High school in 2020 with a license in automotive and collision. He went on to work as a mechanic at Woodward’s Auto Parts in Brockton, where he never shied away from work and continued to show endlessly how much he was trying to pave the way for his siblings and himself, also he was attending Bridgewater State University studying psychology.”

A viewing celebrating McCarl’s precious life will be held on September 12th at 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Russel & Pica Funeral Home in Brockton, MA. The service will be held September 13th at Christ the King Parish at 10:00 a.m. in Brockton MA.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
