20-year-old East Providence woman killed in highway crash remembered for love of children, sweet, courageous nature

A young local woman killed in a highway crash this weekend is being remembered.

According to State Police, on Saturday, at approximately 7:15 a.m., Troopers responded to a single vehicle, single occupant crash on Interstate 95 northbound at mile marker 155 in Palmyra, Maine.

The initial investigation indicates that 20-year-old Tatiana Medeiros of East Providence, Rhode Island, was in the left-hand lane when her 2008 Toyota Matrix left the roadway and crashed into the median.

Medeiros was pronounced deceased at the scene.

According to a GoFundMe fundraiser, Medeiros “was a sweet, courageous, ambitious, strong and loving young woman.”

She was currently enrolled at the University of Maine studying Nursing with the love for pediatric medicine for the last two years.

“Tatiana has always had a love for children and helping them as a Pediatric Nurse was her dream.”

Services have yet to be announced, and the investigation is ongoing.
