19-year-old killed in serious crash on Cape Cod
A Massachusetts teen has been killed in a serious crash on Friday.
According to Barnstable Police, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a passersby reported a single motor vehicle crash on Race Lane in Marstons Mills.
Personnel from the Barnstable Police Department and the Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire Department arrived on scene to find that a white work van had left the roadway and collided with a tree.
The male operator, and lone occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene by COMM FD, who utilized specialized equipment to extricate his body.
The name of the 19-year-old driver from Hyannis is being withheld pending notification.
The BPD Accident Reconstruction Unit processed the scene and is conducting the investigation, which at this early stage appears to be weather related, but is still on-going.
