19-year-old Fall River fast food employee charged after allegedly injuring customer over food order
A Fall River fast food worker is facing charges after an incident on Monday.
According to Det. Sergeant Moses Pereira, units responded to Popeye’s just before 6:45 p.m. for what had been reported as a fight with knives but turned out to be inaccurate.
An argument took place inside the business between a staff member and a customer over the length of time it took to receive his food order. The two exchanged words and the employee ultimately threw a metal tray at the customer striking him above his left eye.
The customer, a 22-year-old Fall River resident, was transported to a local hospital for medical attention.
The employee, 19-year-old Colby McCarthy, was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
