19-year-old deceased in fiery crash on Route 495 Massachusetts State Police say
A teen has died in a fiery crash on a Massachusetts highway.
According to Massachusetts State Police, at just before 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, patrols from the State Police-Millbury Barracks responded to calls reporting a single-car crash and vehicle fire in the median of Route 495 northbound in the area of mile marker 55.2 in Hopkinton.
Upon arrival, Troopers found a 2012 Nissan Altima in the center median in flames. Hopkinton Fire and EMS quickly made their way to the scene and extinguished the flames.
The Nissan’s operator, a 19-year-old Franklin woman, was pronounced deceased on scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the State Police-Millbury Barracks with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, State Police Crime Scene Services Section, State Police Detective Unit for Middlesex County, MassDOT, and The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The crash and its possible causes remain under investigation.
The scene was cleared shortly after 6:00 p.m.
