A local teen has sadly passed away.

Fall River native and Berkley resident 18-year-old Aryana Coelho was found deceased and passed away unexpectedly on Friday.

According to an obituary, “Aryana was a vibrant, fun-loving young woman who lit up every room she entered. She had a sense of humor and cherished time spent with family and friends. Aryana played basketball and field hockey throughout her school years, always bringing her competitive edge and determination to the field. She enjoyed the beach, where she found peace and joy, and was happiest when surrounded by the people she loved. A social butterfly with a flair for self-expression, Aryana’s warmth and zest for life touched everyone she met. She will be remembered for her bright smile, kind heart, and ability to make those around her laugh.”

The sudden loss is heartbreaking for Aryana’s friends and family including her mother who shared her sorrow on social media.

“This is one of the worst posts we ever had to make. Never thought we’d have to share this on Facebook. Never thought we would have to bury our child. It’s going to be tough. Not to have your calls, expecting you to come home, asking what’s for dinner. But your voice will stay with us, your laugh, your undeniably gracious heart. Your twinkle in your eye. You were loved. So, loved. Absolutely loved. More than you believed. And you will definitely be remembered.”

A visitation will be held Friday, September 27th, 2024, from 9 – 11 a.m. at the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St., Fall River, followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
