18-year-old out on bail on previous charges, arrested for stabbing during large disturbance at Narragansett Town Beach
An area teen is facing charges after a violent incident at a local beach.
According to Rhode Island State Police, on Tuesday, members of the Narragansett Police Department responded to a large disturbance at Narragansett Town Beach. Upon arrival, members of law enforcement located three individuals who were suffering from serious injuries resulting from a stabbing incident. Multiple arrests were made at the scene; however, the primary stabbing suspect remained at large following the incident.
The Narragansett Police Department investigated the incident and identified the primary suspect in the felony assault as 18-year-old Willy Medina of Pawtucket.
On Friday, in collaboration with the Narragansett and Pawtucket Police Departments, the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force conducted an operation in Pawtucket, resulting in Medina being taken into custody on an Affidavit and Arrest warrant out of the Narragansett Police Department for felony assault with a deadly weapon / serious bodily injury (stabbing). Medina was subsequently photographed, fingerprinted, and turned over to members of the Narragansett Police Department.
Previously, on April 7, 2026, the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force was tasked with locating and apprehending Medina in a previous firearms related incident. On that date, Medina was taken into custody by members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Pawtucket Police Department for an active Affidavit and Arrest Warrant out of the Pawtucket Police Department for License Required to Carry Pistol, Firing in Compact Area, Vandalism, and Disorderly Conduct. Medina was ultimately arraigned on the previous incident and was released on bail with future court dates.
RISP stated that these arrests are the direct result of strong partnerships between the Rhode Island State Police, Narragansett Police Department, Pawtucket Police Department, and the local and federal participating agencies within the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force.
The Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task force encompasses Detectives from the Rhode Island State Police, Deputies from the United States Marshals Service, Cranston Police Department, Special Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigations, Middletown Police Department, Pawtucket Police Department, Portsmouth Police Department, Providence Police Department, and the Warwick Police Department. The strong law enforcement partnerships and collaboration result in the ability to successfully locate and apprehend violent and often armed wanted offenders.
