An 18-year-old Massachusetts teen was arraigned Tuesday in Fall River Superior Court in connection to the September 19th slaying of 17-year-old Brockton teen Khamitri Cole in Taunton.

Kareem Gendraw, whose last known address was in Randolph, was arraigned on charges of Murder, Assault & Battery with a Firearm, Intimidating a Witness/Juror/Police/Court Official (2 counts), Carrying a Firearm Without a License, and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.

Gendraw pled not guilty and was held without bail.

At just before 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 19, Taunton Police responded to 351 Lothrop Street after receiving a 911 call regarding a person being shot at a party inside the mobile home at that address.

First responders located Cole, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene of the shooting at 12:45 a.m.

According to a GoFundMe fundraiser, “Khamitri was a smart, loving, compassionate kid who would give you the shirt off his back, and shoes off his feet. Khamitri has left behind his twin brother as well as 6 other siblings older and younger. He also has many nieces and nephews that looked up to him. Khamitri also leaves behind his unborn son. Khamitri loved basketball and bike riding with his friends.”

Gendraw’s next scheduled court appearance is a pre-trial conference on March 20th.
