Fall River, Mass. – The 25th Anniversary Miss Massachusetts’ Teen Competition is Sunday, June 22 at 3:00 p.m. at the Hanover Theatre in Worcester. The pageant is the official state preliminary to the Miss America’s Teen Competition. This is the first time that the Teen Competition will be held on the same weekend and venue as the Miss Massachusetts Competition, which takes place on Friday June 20th and Saturday June 21st.

The pageant features Maggie Leighton of Leominster, Miss Massachusetts’ Teen 2024 and 17 beautiful, intelligent and talented teenagers from across the Commonwealth. They will compete for scholarship money and the opportunity to represent Massachusetts at Miss America’s Teen in Orlando, Florida in September.  The show will feature performances by the contestants and Leighton, who will perform a vocal rendition of Paint it Black, which was her talent at the national competition.

Jennifer Freeman will be the pageant producer, and the assistant producer and choreographer Amanda Narciso Ponte was Miss Massachusetts 2013 and competed at the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City, NJ.  Several former Miss Massachusetts’ Teen state titleholders will be special guests at the pageant and will be joined with visiting State teen and Miss titleholders from across New England.  Miss Massachusetts’ Outstanding Teen 2017 Carly Fisher will be the pageant emcee.

The mission of the Miss America Opportunity’s Teen Program is to promote scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living and community involvement for America’s teens. The competition is open to young ladies 13-18 years of age, and they will be judged in five phases of competition –  personal interview, talent, evening wear, onstage conversation and lifestyle and fitness.

Tickets are now available by visiting the Official Website of the Hanover Theatre at:  https://tickets.thehanovertheatre.org/
